April, 2017 - The Kodachrome Elegies screens at Full Frame and Visions du Reel.

March, 2017 - Jay Rosenblatt is one of the jurors of the 55th Ann Arbor Film Festival.

November, 2016 - Jay Rosenblatt will be awarded the Camerimage Award for Outstanding Achievements in Documentary Filmmaking at the Camerimage International Film Festival in Poland.

October, 2016 -  When You Awake won an Experimental Short Film Diploma at the Message to Man International Film Festival in St. Petersburg, Russia and a Special Mention Night Award at the Signes de Nuit Film Festival in Lisbon, Portugal.

August, 2016 - When You Awake will be shown Opening Night at MakeDox in Macedonia. It has also screened at San Francisco International Film Festival; Hot Docs, Toronto, Canada; Krakow Film Festival, Poland; Sheffield Documentary Film Festival, UK; Vila do Conde, Portugal; Palm Springs Shorts Fest; EDOC, Ecuador; Festival international Signes de Nuit; Message to Man International Film Festival, St. Petersburg, Russia; Ambulante Film Festival, Colombia; and Exis Festival, South Korea.

April, 2016 - World Premiere of When You Awake at Visions du Reel, Switzerland

October, 2015 - A Long Way From Home screens at Hamptons Film Festival, New York

September, 2015 - A Long Way From Home screens at Message to Man Film Festival, St. Petersburg, Russia

August, 2015 - A Long Way From Home screens at Dokufest, Kosovo.

June/July, 2015 - A Long Way From Home screens at Krakow Film Festival in Poland and Vila do Conde in Portugal. The Claustrum screens at the Traverse City Film Festival.

April, 2015 - A Long Way From Home premieres at Visions du Reel and San Francisco International Film Festival.

November, 2014 - The Claustrum won the Best International Short Film Award at L'Alternativa Festival in Barcelona, Spain.

September, 2014 - The Claustrum recently screened at Dokufest in Kosovo and will be screening at the Taiwan International Documentary Festival as well as Curtocircuito and L'Alternativa Festivals in Spain.

June, 2014 - The Claustrum at Sheffield Docs, Vila do Conde and Hamburg Short Film Festivals.

RECENT AWARDS AND SCREENINGS

Eight films acquired by MoMA for their permanent collection: The Smell of Burning Ants, Human Remains, King of the Jews, Phantom Limb, Afraid So, I Just Wanted To Be Somebody, The Darkness of Day and Beginning Filmmaking.

Inquire Within had its World Premiere at the 2012 Rotterdam Film Festival and US Premiere at SXSW. Screenings include Tribeca, SF International, EMAF (European Media Arts Festival) and Vila do Conde Shorts Film Festival, Portugal. Winner of Best Experimental Film, Marin County Fair. It screened in competition at the Tampere Short Film Festival in Finland, International Short Film Festival Winterhur, Switzerland and Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival, Czech Republic.

The D Train was awarded Best Short Documentary at Play Doc in Spain and a Jury Diploma at Message to Man International Film Festival in Russia.

MoMA presents The Darkness of Day: Recent Films by Jay Rosenblatt

The Darkness of Day was awarded Best Short Film in the International Official Competition of the Cali International Film Festival in Colombia and Best Documentary at the Tampere Film Festival in Finland.  It has also won Best Short Documentary at Krakow Film Festival in Poland, It's All True in Brazil and Play Doc in Spain as well as Special Mentions at Punto De Vista Film Festival in Spain, Dokufest in Kosova and DOXA, Vancouver. 

Beginning Filmmaking is part of the American Documentary Showcase, a curated program of contemporary documentaries that is offered to US Embassies around the world.
